Many large cities in the US have zoos, a major animal attraction in the country. These zoological gardens not only house animals in areas modeled after their natural habitats, but they are beautifully landscaped and planned areas that are made to be attractive for spectators to view the animals. Many zoos also have botanical gardens.
One of the most famous zoos in the US is the Bronx Zoo, located in Bronx, New York. This zoo has over 4,000 animals that will awe and inspire. Unique animals are a snow leopard and a red panda. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is another famous zoo in the US. It is well-known as the country’s top zoo that features almost 900 species of animals, many more than other zoos in the country. There are also great shows and attractions at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, such as Nighttime Zoo, which runs from afternoon until evening with shows such as birds flying free to symphonic music. The African Summer Festival features African animals and there are many interactive animal displays at this zoo that also features a world-class botanical garden.
The National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland has 7,439 fish and animals of over 500 species. In Washington, DC, the National Zoological Park features 2,700 animals of 435 species. There are many other zoos throughout the US.
Besides zoos, there are many other animal attractions to see, such as Monkey Jungle in Miami, Florida. Monkeys run through the area only blocked from visitors by netting, and visitors are warned that monkeys will bite. There is a wild monkey swimming pool where the monkeys swim and perform their antics as they play. Monkey Jungle also features King, the gorilla, who has 10 acres of land to play on for his home.
