Several types of shows are available in the US. Among these are television shows called “series” that are shown weekly. Movies are another form of shows that are popular in the country. Movie theaters are in almost every city, and they present various actors and actresses in new releases. These theaters are a large part of American culture, and they are typically large buildings with up to 20 screens showing various movies as viewers sit in rows of comfortable padded seats and eat popcorn and boxes of candy.
Another type of show in the US is the theater where live performances occur in the form of plays. There are also musical shows, such as the symphony or concerts that present popular rock stars or other performers.
Hotels and tourist attractions also often have shows, such as hotels in Las Vegas who have popular comedians or singers performing at auditoriums right in their facility. Tourist attractions like zoos or theme parks also have shows that are usually unique to the attraction. For instance, Sea World, a theme park with locations around the US, presents shows with animal tricks like dolphins jumping through hoops.
There are also smaller shows that are presented by students in schools or by small community acting groups. These may be talent shows where each person plays an instrument, sings, dances, or shows their talent to the audience. They might also be recitals by school children who have taken musical lessons and want to show parents and family members how much they have learned.
