Eco-Traveling

The United States is one of the countries that actively support the protection of the environment and the conservation of resources. This is why each state and most cities have parks and zoos. The parks aim to protect the natural habitats of unique plants and animals, while zoos serve to save animals from extinction. These parks and zoos also raise the public's environmental awareness. Some of the greatest parks to visit are the Great Smoky Mountains National Park located between North Carolina and Tennessee, the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Oklahoma, and the Isle Royale National Park in Michigan. One of the best zoos in the world is the Columbus Zoo in Ohio.

Eco-traveling can also be done on a boat. Tourists can paddle while appreciating the beauty of dune fields along the Niobrara River in Nebraska. This river trip will also feature waterfalls and wildlife, such as herons, bison, and elk. There is also Missouri's Ozark National Scenic Riverways, which is composed of two rivers, the Current and the Jacks Fork, that are fed by spring water. And to the north, right on the Canadian border, tourists can enjoy the scenic Niagara Falls.

If tourists are interested in an ultimate experience in viewing wildlife, they can visit the Volcano National Park in Hawaii, and while in the area, they can dive or snorkel to see the beautiful sea turtles. Wildlife viewing can also be experienced in Alaska and the main attraction is the grizzly bear.
