Fort Worth, Tex. – The seat of Tarrant County

Fort Worth is a large city in Texas situated in the north-central part of the state on the Trinity River. Major Ripley Arnold meant it to be a military outpost on the Trinity River, when he first founded it. It unexpectedly grew into a prosperous city due to its proximity to a Cattle Trail. It further prospered into a meat-packing and shipping center in Texas due to the arrival of the railroads.

A few years later, Fort Worth again experienced a booming economy when oil was discovered near the city’s outskirts. The establishments of military outposts in near the city furthered the City’s development during World War 1 and 2.

Today, the industries found in the city range from clothing to food products, to the latest Air Fighter Planes and Helicopters of America, to computers, etc. Forth Worth also has a number of city attractions meant to bring in additional income to the city.

A good place to visit while in Fort Worth would be the Cowtown Fudge and Creamery. This place is better than any old chocolate factory. It’s like a child’s ice cream wonderland. People who have been here have said that this place serves the best ice cream in all of Texas.
