McKinney is a rapidly expanding city within the state of Texas. McKinney has an historic area, where tourists can visit the Heard-Craig House, the old Pecan Grove Cemetery, and the North Texas History Center, where you can learn about early settlers and the American Civil War. There is also the Chestnut Square Historic Village, which consists of a number of nineteenth century buildings, including a schoolhouse, an old store, a house, and a chapel. In addition to this, the historic area has an art gallery, and a vast number of boutiques and restaurants to visit.
For those interested in sport, McKinney has three public golf courses, a number of swimming pools, and areas for playing soccer. The city also has over 30 parks in the local area, including Erwin Park, which features nature trails and facilities for fishing, and Finch Park, which has playground, picnic area, and baseball and tennis courts.
