Phoenix

America tours

Long before settlers ever laid eyes on the “New Land”, Native Americans had built an irrigation system in the place where Phoenix would spring forth. Though the irrigation was evidently successful, the Native Americans who made the system vanished all of a sudden, leaving behind their ruins together with their irrigation system. When the settlers arrived, they discovered the irrigation system. Seeing how the system would benefit them, they built their settlement around it. The irrigation system caused their settlement to rapidly expand. Due to the fact that the new city was founded upon ruins, the city was aptly named after the legendary bird Phoenix.

The irrigation system, together with the climate proved extremely useful for agriculture; even ‘till this day, Phoenix is still a major contributor of agriculture; but it isn’t limited to only that. Phoenix also has good commercial, manufacturing (electronics, aerospace technology, air-conditioning, leather goods, and Native American arts and crafts), mining, timbering, as well as tourism. The city is also home to many music venues and cultural centers which attracts many more tourists.

Though the climate is mainly arid, this fact has not deterred people from moving into Phoenix. Today, Phoenix is said to be one of the fastest growing city in the United States of America.
