America tours

Sacramento, Calif. is named after the Sacramento River flowing beside the city together with American rivers. The river’s name honors the Holy Sacrament of the Body of Christ. It became a city due to the efforts of Swiss immigrants, John Sutter and James W. Marshall who established the Sutter’s Fort. Sacramento, Calif. greatly flourished under the protection of the fort. During the California Gold Rush, the city became the major distribution point both in commercial and agricultural industries, offering services for wagon trains, stagecoaches, riverboats, telegraphy, Pony express and First Transcontinental Railroad.

Sacramento, Calif. preserved most of its past including the heritage and culture of the old inhabitants which are the Nisenan and Plains Miwok Indians. These early settlers left evidence of their existence within the city. However, modern era can also be felt when within Sacramento, Calif., buildings with modern architectures can be seen such as the Ziggurat Building located in the west of Sacramento and the West American Bank building. There is also the US Bank Tower recently completed in 2008.

There are several places in which tourists can explore and relax such as the Boulevard Park, Richmond Grove, River Park, Sierra Oaks, Southside Park, Greenhaven, Hollywood Park and Land Park.
