Savannah

America tours

Established in 1773, Savannah, Georgia is now home to more than 130,000 residents.  Thanks to its unique architecture and historic value, Savannah is a popular destination for tourists.  While agriculture was the original driving force behind Savannah's economy, the millions of visitors to Savannah each year have now made tourism one of the four main components of its economy.

Downtown Savannah is filled with National Historic Landmarks.  Visitors to Savannah can enjoy seeing historic squares, churches, synagogues, homes, cemeteries and forts.  Visitors can also visit the Tybee Island Light Station, which was the first lighthouse built in that region of the United States.

Savannah has a wide variety of performing arts.  This includes the Savannah Dance Theatre, Coastal Jazz Association, Savannah Music Festival, Savannah Philharmonic and the Savannah Theatre.

Savannah holds an annual Saint Patrick's Day celebration.  In addition to a parade, large celebrations are held throughout the city.
